Best Week 10 DFS Running Backs

The following are the best daily fantasy running back plays for week 9 of the NFL season.

Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers

Christian McCaffrey has been nothing short of spectacular this season as the best running back in the NFL. He is currently on pace for nearly 2,500 yards from scrimmage which would break the all-time single-season record set by Chris Johnson. McCaffrey is currently nursing a knee injury but it didn’t appear to slow him down at all last week when he rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns against the Tennessee Titans. He’s scored at least one touchdown in every game since September 12th against the Seattle Seahawks.

In week 10, McCaffrey will face the Green Bay Packers who have allowed the fourth-most points to fantasy running backs this season. The best running back against a team who struggles to defend running backs makes this the most favorable matchup of the week.

Saquon Barkley, New York Giants

Saquon Barkley always has a high floor due to his volume in both the passing game and running game. He only has two rushing touchdowns on the season but is still managing to produce respectable fantasy points. In week 9 against the Dallas Cowboys, he only rushed for 28 yards but salvaged his day from a fantasy perspective to a degree by getting involved in the passing game.

Week 10 is the battle for New York as Barkley and the Giants take on the New York Jets, who lost to the previously winless Miami Dolphins in week 9. The Jets are middle of the pack in allowing fantasy points to running backs at 14th-most, but with Barkley’s volume of touches, he should have an outstanding day from a fantasy perspective.

Josh Jacobs, Oakland Raiders

Josh Jacobs is the current front runner for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Last week against the Detroit Lions he rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns. In week 10, he’ll be facing the Los Angeles Chargers who allow the 10th-most fantasy points to running backs.

Additionally, the Chargers are dealing with rumors as a distraction. They’ve suffered from poor attendance and lack of fan support since moving from San Diego to Los Angeles last season. Their home games have been like road games when they face teams whose fans travel well, such as the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers. Taking into account the Chargers’ disappointing season, poor rush defense, and now a distraction, it could be a very big day for Jacobs.

Marlon Mack, Indianapolis Colts

Marlon Mack hasn’t produced consistently this season but he has had a few big weeks, such as 174 rushing yards against the Chargers and 132 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Week 10 looks to be an opportunity for another one as he faces the Miami Dolphins who only won their first game of the season in week 9.

Even in a winning effort, the Dolphins allowed Jets’ running back Leveon Bell 66 yards on the ground and another 55 through the air for a respectable fantasy day. Mack has been a better fantasy running back than Bell this season and should pile up the points against the Dolphins who’ve allowed the 5th-most fantasy points to running backs.
